The Vaporizer is a relatively new device, which has recently gained popularity. It resembles a cigarette, albeit one that does not burn. An electronic cigarette is essentially an electronic device which replicate traditional tobacco smoking minus the ash. It basically consists of a glass shell like a cigar, an atomizer for the internal coil, and a cap or tank to hold the liquid. Rather than ash, the user ingests vapor instead.

Like regular cigarettes, vapes contain chemicals which can cause cancer. The chemical Chlorine is one of the most common causes of lung cancer, particularly in smokers. Inhaling any amount of Chlorine will cause problems with the lungs. This is because vapor contains chemicals called Carbon Monoxide, which is present in significantly high concentrations in enclosed areas like cars, boats, and trains. Even the air in the typical home is not free of this chemical, so it is easy to see why many vapers are concerned about the effects of vaporizing cigarettes.

By inhaling the substance Chlorine, smokers are exposing themselves to extremely high levels of toxins in their lungs. These toxins are carcinogens and can cause serious problems like cancer, as well as chronic health conditions which can eventually lead to death. To illustrate just how damaging these chemicals can be, studies have shown that prolonged use of cigarettes can reduce sperm count and cause infertility. If you can believe this, then I would submit to you that even the use of a vaporizer on a regular basis may ultimately lead to infertility in a future generation!

While some people are concerned about the possible harm of E-Cigs, we should remember that this type of tobacco is simply a safer alternative to smoking a traditional cigarette. If you quit smoking, you will immediately cut down on your chances of developing heart disease, lung cancer, emphysema, and other life threatening diseases. There are a number of vaporizers available on the market today, including those which resemble traditional cigarettes, but run on batteries. There is no ash produced, and no need to worry about dealing with a dusty or filth free pen. Vapes are especially good for kids who love to spray things when they’re done!

But what about the dangers of E-Cig smoking? The concern over the chemicals used in vaporizers leads me to a new question: Could there really be an effective alternative to traditional e Cigs? According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), vaporizers produce only about half the amount of smoke found in a traditional cigarette. That constitutes a remarkable step forward in the fight against cancer!

In addition to reducing the amounts of harmful chemicals found in traditional cigarettes, Vaporizers also reduce the amount of tar and carbon monoxide in the smoke. Tar and carbon monoxide have been linked to serious health problems such as bronchitis, emphysema, and various forms of cancer. Those chemicals can also irritate the lining of the lungs and increase the risk of developing mouth, nose, and throat cancer. Many people who suffer from emphysema and other lung diseases often report that traditional cigarettes do not significantly reduce their symptoms, and that they continue to take in large amounts of toxins even while they are trying to quit. Vaporizers help eliminate many of these chemicals, therefore decreasing the likelihood of developing respiratory illnesses and causing death from lung disease.

As with any new technology, there are some concerns about the relative safety of E-Cigarettes. According to the American Cancer Society, there is “no research to support the idea that e-Cigarettes are safe.” Similarly, the American Heart Association state that there is “little scientific evidence” to suggest that vaporizing tobacco is less harmful than smoking. Even the FDA, which generally limits the amount of nicotine contained in e-juice, cautions against the use of E-Cigarettes because of the lack of conclusive evidence on the health effects of E-Cigarette use.

The risks associated with E-Cigarette use are real and should be taken seriously. Yet there are many teens and young people that recognize the fun and convenience of E-Cigarettes, and continue to use them despite the concerns expressed by public health experts. With few restrictions in place and no requirement for parental permission, E-Cigarettes may prove to be a welcome addition to the American culture and may continue to provide a vital source of nicotine for young people that otherwise would not consider using tobacco products.
